    Default Great Forum

    Hi All,

Just like to say what a useful forum and resource this is for ACCA students and hope it keeps growing ......

i have completed F2 F3 CBE with high marks using BPP books, however they are awful large lumps of wood to read, like a dictionary written by a madman. i mainly relied on my college notes and revision question kits to pass well.

I really like the style, the forum comments and look of GTG books :) and will try them after i complete F1 (already got BPP :().

    Quick Question:

I want to do Taxation and Law papers next if i bought the books now, what is the risk of syllabus change by the time Dec exams come around ? As i may not have time to do even one more paper for june.

    Thanks for any advice

    Gary

    Hi Gary,

You do not have to worri about the risk of syllabus change by the time Dec exams come around , because it doesnt happen this way , even if there are some changed due to changes in Companies act or taxation laws , then these wont be examined in the session in which you will sit for!

However this year there are changes in IFRS and Taxation and Corporate laws which are reported here on the forum.

You can buy the GTG Studymaterials without the fear of any further syllabus changes.

    Regards

    Acid

    Hi Gary and Priyo,

Do not judge any book by its size or cover. Even if the book is bulky but covers and explains the ACCA syllabus systematically and gives you enough solved examples then it is worthwhile. GTG books explains the concepts, gives lot of examples and even tests your knowledge from time to time. There are exam based questions solved too at the end of each chapter. That makes the GTG book bulky but it is required for you to excel in your exams.

The only difference between BPP and GTG book is that the GTG book covers all the learning outcomes, study guides stated in the ACCA syllabus in the same flow and gives you lot of examples which makes your self studying easier.

F6 needs a lot of practice. All the best.

    Regards
    Annie

    Hi Priyo,

I am sorry if I have hurt you. But I thought to explain this because even GTG books are bulky but that is because it covers all the useful information to clear your exams. It makes your basic concepts very clear. I know that you love GTG materials, so do I. Enjoy studying and cheers.

    Love
    Annie

Well i have read half of the F4 GTG book and yes they are all "bulky" but as you said the flow and sheer number of examples makes it much more enjoyable to read and understand. BBP in parts is like a dictionary, it feels fragmented and can be confusing in language used and pace even when you are highly competent in english as it is my only language !!

But i only have experience of F1-F3 ..........
