    Smile Hi

I am not new to this forum, but just registered myself for ACCA this December. So i think this is the right time to be active on this forum and share / learn the knowledge and experiences.

Well! i have exemption for F1 to F4. Currently am confused which two subjects to opt for in June, F5 and F6 or F7 and F8? I would go only with 2 this time as i am also appearing for my last sem of MBA...!! Good luck to me!

    Hi Leena,

F5 (Performance Mgt) and F9 (Financial Mgt) seem most closely aligned to your MBA studies. I'm not sure if you've been exposed to UK taxation (F6) or Audit (F8).... although you may have had some exposure to IFRS since Indis is moving towards IFRS. If you think you can handle it, then F7 may be ok. After you've graduated from the MBA it should be easier to focus on papers that you would be studying for the first time.

    Good luck!

It seems you are in a dilema of which topic to choose. F5,F6,F7,F8 all are from different areas, described below by their paper names:
    F5: Performance measurement
    F6: Taxation
    F7: Financial reporting
    F8: Audit and Assurance

F6 and F8 are relativley new subjects which have not been studied in detail earlier in ACCA papers, but some introductions of F5 and F7 have been introduced to students in the beginning papers.

Your situation is unique, as you have been exempted from F1-F4, so for you I would recommend studying those papers that seem easier, I believe you can download sample chapters and get an idea of what the paper itself is about.
Good Luck in the papers you choose!

Since you have already registered for ACCA this may be a moot point - but let me throw out a suggestion anyway. I have heard that the US CPA training is being introduced in India in a big way. With focussed discipline and a good prep course it is possible to complete it in 4-6 months. Apart from the fact that many US MNC's as well as BPO's would find the CPA an asset, you may be interested to know that the ACCA also gives several more exemptions to US CPA's - I think all F papers except maybe F7.

    Some food for thought!!

hello Santosh, i am doing good. So are you a Chartered from India, and that's why taking up ifrs?... i know two guys from my work place who cleared ifrs. with GTG assistance and gudiance, its good. they found 10 days sessions done by GTG in Mumbai very helpful. i had appeared for F6 in July 2010 and awaiting results... planning to take up F7 & F8 in Dec 2010, if i clear F6! or else F6 n F8.

    Wish you good luck!
