Cost committed: Cost that have not incurred, but will incur in the future on the basis of decisions that have already been taken
About 80% of the life-cycle cost of a product are committed and design stage.
Cost incurred: costs are incurred when a resources is used or sacrificed
The actual cost of a product is built up mostly in the manufacturing stage and service and abandonment stage
