Default Distance Learning - Career Change

    Hi there,

I've been looking at the ACCA distance learning qualification to aid my career change into accounting/finance.

(I work in Pharmacueticals and I'm 25, with a BSc in Pharmacology)

I can fund the qualification myself, but I feel like I'm on my own when it comes to getting a job. Okay, I may pass a few exams before I apply to places, but I have no experience. At this stage, should I call myself 'part-qualified'?

All the employers I've encoutered want exerience, although I can blag (not lie about) certain transferable skills, I'm concerned I'll be overlooked for people with real accounting experience and my time, money and ACCA exams will count for nothing.

I'm aware of the big four and training contracts, but I'm not holding out on being accepted, so the ACCA distance learning route is a very likely option.

Is my only option a training contract or can I satisfy my PER without one?

What do you recommend I do about getting my first job in the field of accounting/finance?

    Many thanks for your responses

    hi

you would have to work in accountancy/finance/audit related profession to satisfy the requirement of your PER. You dont need to have any training contract.

You can purse distance learning ACCA Course.

    hope this helps
