View Full Version : Any Suggestions?
I have failed by F4 law and F7 Financial reporting papers, I have already started to study for F8 Audit and was planing on starting F6 Tax when the books come out,
Do I now drop F8 and concreate on F4 and F7 and possibly still do Tax,
or carry on with F8 and tax and retake F4 and F7 in december 2008.
Any help would be appreciated? I don't want to waste the pass months work I've done on Audit but I know I should pass the others first.
thanks
Tracy
Hi Tracy,
I would suggest you to retake F4 and F7 as they are fresh in your mind and will need more of your concentration. But now as you are preparing for F8 and don’t want to break the link, what you can do is take either F4 or F7 along with Audit F8 paper in June and plan F6 Taxation and either of the two for December.
Hope this will help
Thanks

Hi Tracy,
I agree with Rajni - I think you should retake F4 and F8 at the moment. Don't start F6 at the moment - you should do this in December instead. If you feel confident with F8, then you can continue with it. Are you working or just studying? If you are working, 3 should still be manageable as you will hopefully be just revising F4 and F7.
When you get a chance, print out the papers you failed and try to solve them again. Spend as much time as you can practicing past papers, rather than reading the text again. you learn so much more by doing questions, rather than reading theory. Ensure you spend time really looking at what you are doing wrong and try to improve your technique. if you are ready to share some of your solutions with us (can you scan them and send them to us?), then we could give you some feedback on what you are doing right and wrong. We would post it on the forum so others can also learn from what you have done.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the advice I think I will retake F4 and F7 this time, I need to get a new text book for F7 and I might get the GTG for F4 as well as mine is a BBP book. I will be doing more question practice this time, I think that where I went wrong.

Hi tracy,
I think that practising from revision series as many times as possible is the best approach and during my acca studies what I felt was that generally students who r on selfstudy mode tend to underestimate the value of constantly going through pass-cards for revision.. In my view, once u r through with ur text book keep pass cards handy for revising and re-revising topics especially while doing practice questions.. Make it an integral part of ur revision..
Wish u good luck
