Hi guys,

I Have completed my F8 Audit & Assurance study text in just " 5 DAYS " !!!!!

Yes , this is absolutely true without any error!

I started my F8 studies 3 weeks back , read 2 chapters then closed it till 1 week back . Again started from chap 1 and finisihed all in just 5 days! thats today!

I think its coz the study text was very interesting and I always had a great passion for Auditing. So I never lost my interest and momentum while reading the subject and still It seems like I have finished a Harry Potter book.

I still can recall manythings which I did in my studies and I didnt skip anything , read word by word and through all examples ! I feel @ the top of the mountain but ... 5 days left to result!

Now I can spend all my time in Questionbank practice and preparing for my F7.

Brilliant isnt?

Hi Acid,

This is excellent news. However, a word of caution. Auditing itself is not difficult - what is hard is convincing the examiner that you really understand it!

remember, whenever you are answering a question (even when practicing), ensure you write your answer in such a way that someone more junior to you would understand your answer and be able to carry out the tests you are suggesting.

Also, remember to go line by line through the scenario questions and ensure you examine each line for clues about weaknesses or risks etc...

Good luck with the Q bank!

Hi Krishna,

Actually immediately after I posted about this , I thought that people may take me to be lieing but infact Its not!

Even I am amazed but I think as I said I always had a deep interest in Auditing and always wondered how cool its gonna be to an auditor so I grapped the studytext and kept reading and solving . In one day I did around 4 chapters. Although Till now i always finished by Studytexts a month before exams but this time it done long before it.

So the thing is I didnt lost my interest in the subject . When i read about Risk i was interested to know about materiality and so on and on.

I cant really tell you whats the secret of it but its just that for me it was like Harrypotter or Lord of the Ring etc.

But as Vandana said , I will now have to concentrate on procedures . I think you all should be motivated by my example but dont try to do it!! Because people have different learning abilities and styles . Although its not my superb learning capabilities but as i said that this is the first time this happened and i think its coz of my interest for auditing.

So just be motivated enough to finish the subject AS SOON as POSSIBLE!

Regards,

Acid

Well done wish I could read a study text and take it in that quick, Did you do yourself notes as you go through,
I wondering if I am spending to much time writing note and not answering the questions? and if the notes I doing are going to be able help when it comes to revision?

Hi Tracy,

To be honest i never wrote notes in all my ACCA Studies. The key is question practice and understanding the concepts. During my F6 Revision , for example , when I thought that i have to refer many times to answers when solving question bank so I thought to go back to my study text to speed up my tax knowledge and that really helped and I did well in the exams!

Now that you will start a lovely journey for your F8 along with us here on GTG Forum and will hopefully an active particpant in the F8 Getting it together ... I wish you all the best!
