Dear Priyo,

I am happy for you that you have realised that its time to be more active and dynamic rather then lazy. Because in todays world those who dont keep up with the time , time crushes them.

The best way is to motivate yourself and think of the benefits once you will be qualified and respectable accountant in a tuxedo auditing the financial statements of the company.

Do not be carried away by those who wish to distract you from doing your studies and set a perfect timetable for yourself and try to keep up to it.

Last but not the least do your best and ask God for the rest.

Regards and best of luck!

I have to say, Acid is wise beyond his years! That is an excellent approach!

I remember when I was studying for my chartered exams, I would often think 'why on earth am I doing this????'. I could never see the end in sight and I was worried about failing. But you know what - you MUST persevere.
And what Acid said is true - imagine yourself in the future, having everything you want.

About 2 years after I qualified, I joined BPP. After setting up their business in Romania, I was asked to move to Poland to set up BPP there. There was heavy competition from another training firm who had been there for years. I knew nothing about the market in Poland and knew no one. So really I was in a difficult (almost impossible!) situation. Did I give up and say I can't do it? NO - of course not! I sat down and went back to my studies. I worked out (from paper P3), what our strengths and weaknesses were and what the opportunities and threats were. From my F5 and F9 knowledge, I worked out my break even points and did sensitivity analysis. From F6 I knew what taxation questions to ask. From F4 the legal questions. And so on and so forth. Within 6 months, we had won a major client from our competitor and within a few years became the dominant player on the market.

The reason i share some of my past with you is that I could not have done what I did WITHOUT my qualification. It is absolutely essential and ACCA will open so many doors for you.

Some simple steps for you to take to improve performance:

1) Set yourself realistic goals. If you constantly set yourself a timetable that you can not complete, then cut down the number of hours!

2) Try to do your studying in the morning, then it is out of the way for the day. I used to get up 1 hour early and study in the morning. My mind was fresher and more seemed to sink in.

3) Practice practice practice! Many people spend too much time just reading the text book - it is more important to practice questions.

4) Remember if you are not punctual, you look unprofessional. Think about how people view you. so strive to be better!

Good luck and tell me how you get on!

Hi vandana,

All the four points which you had mentioned was very true and i m agree with the same. Becuase the same approach helped me to become a Chartered Accoutant.

I would like to add one more point to this.
A person must have a fire in himself that he has to do/achieve the goal at any cost and there is nothing else in the world.

Regards,
RB

I think what vandana mam has said is very much true and indeed very motivating..
Here I would like to add that passion, commitment and last not the least disciplined preservance apart from being methodical in approach is the key to success in any examination...
This time, with God''s grace I have cleared my last 4 papers of ACCA and have become ACCA affiliate. Although I regret that why this gr88 forum for interaction was not available earlier. But still I must say that during last few days, I have read almost all threads in this forum and especially comments of vandana mam on various aspects of ACCA exams and found them really motivating and practically useful for ACCA exam preparation..
Wish all of ACCA aspirants a very good luck for your exams and career and thanx to vandana mam for motivating and guiding all of us...
