Is it possible for a Internal Auditor to become a Finance officer in the same organization she/ he served as an Internal Auditor?
If yes, what advantages and disadvantages the organization is likely to obtain when Internal auditor becomes Finance Officer?
Thanks.

An internal auditor is not prohibited from being appointed as a finance officer of an organisation so long as he resigns from the post of an internal auditor of the company.
Advantages
As a finance officer he /she would be very familiar with the internal controls, policies and procedures. Further as the internal auditor, he would have reviewed the internal controls and therefore he would know the loopholes in the systems. Such knowledge, can be used to reinforce the internal controls.
Therefore this will definitely enable him / her to carry out his / her functions according to the policies of the organisations and thereby leading to implementation of sound internal controls for the organisation.
