hello friends i hope u all will be fine i have got a few general querries regarding F8

i have heard from my teacher that we are not allowed to use personal pronouns like I and me in the paper , and that we are supposed to be avoiding bullets , rather short paragraphs should be used

Another shocking behaviour of ACCA examiner [as told by my teacher] is that we are not going to pass the paper in case of any conceptual blunder [even if the rest of paper might make the aggregate over 50% ]

if anyone of u have come acrooss any of these approch related issues , please confirm these to me and also any further examiner recommendations .

wow this is news to me. If the question says "you are the auditor" then continues to say what they want me to explain I would use "I" or "Me" simply because I am assumed the auditor.

Well I would use bullets if they say "list" but if they say explain or discuss I would put that in paragraphs.

If they ask me to test any of the internal controls and state weaknesses, reasons and recommendations I will put that in a table format.

I refuse to believe that.

The use of short concise paragraphs is recommended, and also the use of bullet points and lists, all dependent on the question being asked.

An article in the student Accountant.. highlights the situations where a Fundamental Level student can use Bulletins or Short Paras!.

As far as i can recall Ur only required to use Bullets when you plan to describe or explain the sentence ur using!

And as for the pronoun used, i never used any pronoun in any audit paper of mine. And i Passed my P7 and F8 the first Attempt and on self study basis.

U just need to highlight the procedures so a simple "CAsting of Sales invoice with the Cheques received" does the job as well... !

Just check back with ur tutor he might be giving you hints on how to better approach a theory paper rather then the audit F8 itself!

I think it's depends on the requirement, if it's ask you write a report then you need avoid the words eg I, you

If in the case you are an audit manager, then you should use the words I'd like to...
