F8 - Query

Hi,

In F8 Do we have to learn the ISAs , for example the ISA 200 in ST page B3.2 . Would we learn it the same way as the cases in the F4?

Hi Acid,

No, you don't neccessarily need to be able to quote ISAs in the same way that you quote cases, but you need to know if there is a standard on particular areas eg audit reports etc.

ISA's are not needed to be rote learned but obviously the examiner does expect the student know how to apply in the situations required.A good start is to read the examiners approach to F8 article in last year's issue of April 2007 of Student Accountant or March if I remember correctly, that will clear a lot of confusions for you.
