As an ACCA student & even when I am a member am I allowed to produce accounts reports & tax returns etc for friends and family without a practising certificate?
I have no intention of running a business or advertising services.
I know ACCA class work for friends & family as outside the scope of public practise but I want to be clear on the matter as the rulebook is very cloudy and grey on an exact answer regarding this.
I have practice experience so would not be taking on anything I can not handle or have done many times before.

As accountants we are guided by the IFAC Code of ethics
this code establishes the fundamental principles of professional ethics for professional accountants and provides a conceptual framework for applying those principles. Professional accountants shall use professional judgment in applying this conceptual framework. The framework requires the professional
accountant to:
(a) Identify threats to compliance with the fundamental principles;
(b) Evaluate the significance of the threats identified; and
(c) Apply safeguards, when necessary, to eliminate the threats or reduce them to an
acceptable level.* Safeguards are necessary when the professional accountant
determines that the threats are not at a level at which a reasonable and informed
third party would be likely to conclude, weighing all the specific facts and
circumstances available to the professional accountant at that time, that
compliance with the fundamental principles is not compromised.
Compliance with the fundamental principles may potentially be threatened by a broad range of circumstances. Many threats fall into the following categories:
•Self interest (may occur as a result of the financial or other interest of member or of immediate or close family members)
•Familiarity (where members, because of a close relationship become too sympathetic to the interest of others)
hope this help that is a decision you will have to take for yourself

I believe there are special rules where you can do this without a practice certificate.
You have to take no payment and sign as an honoury reporting accountant.
Check out the ACCA members rulebook section 2.2 paragraph 4(3).
