Is anyone preparing for F1: Accountant in Business paper? It is a fundamental paper and one of the easiest to clear.

Remember the examination contains 100% compulsory multiple choice questions. All fifty questions must be attempted. So cover all the aspects and study across the breadth of the syllabus. GTG Study Text, Keynotes and Question Bank are there to help you get through the exam!

Please let us know if anyone has any difficulties / doubts regarding the subject.

All the Best!!

Hi

Thanks for your useful advice. I completely agree you. In addition to this I would like to say that the students should read the examples, mindmaps & practice test yourself. And the most important thing that keep Key Notes with you all the time so that it will help you all quickly refer to the important points as well as these as handy hence u can read them any where even while travelling. The most important thing which can make us successful is punctuality.

Yes, there is synopsis in the form of mindmap for each learning outcome in GTG Study Text. It helps to know what to focus on when revising. Keynotes help in quick revision of each study guide. Practicing questions from Study Text and Question Bank will help students know to what extent they have understood the topic and which topic they need to work on more.

Ahlan,

You can purchase the GTG Study text online , its indeed very cheap! plus you will get a 10% discount . I bought the study text for F7 and F8 and It really made the entire process of my ACCA studies easier.

I think you should try GTG its the best for homestudy students and espically like ppl like me who live in Saudi arabia who have no instituion for ACCA.

Why dont you try purchasing GTG study materials?

Hi Amritha

Wish you all the best for your F1 exam!!

From the analysis of pilot paper it seems that there is equal weight for all the sections (except for section C). Hence cover all the aspects and study across the breadth of the syllabus. Don’t leave any topic for option. Try to remember key points of each Study Guide with the help of keynotes. Let us know if you have any doubts.

Let us know how the exam goes!

Hi to everybody there.

I'm preparing my F1 paper by self studyg and just can't wait to sit for my CBE exam with the help of GTG book. (Can't make it right now cause still waiting for my ACCA student card for sitting the exam, as I just registered as ACCA student last year Dec).

Frankly speaking, GTG book (F1) really buit up my confident on handling this fundamental paper well. Your guys won't know how confusing i am when i'm holding my 'BPP' book, which was so hard to absord and understand them.

Almost thinking of giving up to continue the ACCA study until i pick up this GTG books. With just reading the whole study note in 3 times then i manage to answer the question bank well..... ho ho ho, God bless. With GTG books then they make my studies become more interesting and fun.

Hi kaneboy85

Paper 1.1 – Preparing Financial Statements was examined under the old ACCA Professional Scheme. As per the new ACCA Qualification Paper F3 - Financial Accounting is its equivalnet. Students studying under the previous scheme have been converted to the new ACCA Qualification in August 2007. The new qualification was first examined in December 2007. So I think now Paper F3 is correct for Paper 1.1.

Annie

Paper F1 – Accountant in Business has been introduced newly in the new ACCA Qualification. Its not equivalent to Paper 1.1.

Hi kaneboy85

kaneboy85

i will be taking paper based exam , so what the different? izit paper base exam easy then computer base exam?

Snehal K

Hi kaneboy85

For F1, F2 & F3 –

Paper base exam is of 2 hours durations and consists of 50 questions (40 two marks questions and 10 one mark questions). These are multiple choice and true / false type questions.

CBE is also of 2 hours duration and contains 50 questions (40 two-mark questions and 10 one-mark questions). But the style of questions is slightly different. CBE contains questions types: one and two mark MCQ’s, one and two-mark multiple response questions, two-mark multiple response matching questions and two-mark number entry questions.

CBEs offer following benefits oven paper base exams –

Flexibility - You are not restricted to June and December paper-based examination sessions as you can sit CBE at any time of year. CBE also offers flexibility for re-sits, which you can take at any time. There is no restriction on the number of times you can resit the examinations by CBE.
Instant feedback - Your result is displayed on the computer screen at the end of the examination.
Results are uploaded by the licensed centre and will be transferred to your ACCA account within 72 hours.

But I don’t think paper base exams are easy than CBE. The level of difficulty will be same in both the exams.
