The first sitting of F7 (Int) was Tuesday. On the whole it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Quite similar to the pilot paper, and the timing was ok too (not for all questions though). As I had predicted q3 was very time consuming, calculation of ratios and horizontal analysis. This left me with less time to complete q4 & q5. However I did manage to do a little of both of those. Overall opinion......Fair exam.
Just hope I've done enough to get through this one...

Hi Kelly,

Even I appeared for the F7 paper. This is a common mistake a student makes by giving too much time to one question and too little to other. Even I had done this mistake previously, and I have learnt from it. Make a mind set that for 25 marks question give only 45 minutes and not more than that, move on to the next question, because that will fetch you more marks. After you have done with all, then come back to the required question. Q4 was for 15 marks and Q5 for 10 marks, both questions were very quick to solve plus easy. The time required for Q4 was 20 mins and Q5 25 mins. Q1, 2 & 3 required 45 mins each. In the reading time if you had read Q3 you could have saved your time by exactly planning how to answer it. Q3 required you to calculate the set of ratios give for the next year plus there were some revisions, so while answering itself you could have made three sections one for the ratios give, the new ratios and the revised ratios and then you could have answer the b part of the question analysing the performance with the executive directors report in mind. The common mistake made here is that after calculating all the ratios for the next year, then we attempt to do the revised ratios writing all the ratios overall again and then anaysing the performance first for the given years and then explaining about the directors report which will of course take a lot of time but will not fetch you more marks.

Hope this helps

Annie
