Hi,

A business process Change can come up because of three reasons:
1-Environmental Change: the business as an open system can be affected and affect the enviroment within which is operating, if the environment change it therefore follows that the business should change its process to be competitive.

2-Change in Competitive Strategies: if the company changes the ways of competing, the processes has to change to enable the business to compete.

3-Acquisitions and Mergers:as the business is being acqired or acquiring another business the processes will change.

Types of Business Process Change
A process change can:
(1) Process Re-engineering: a fundamental change in the business processes.
(2) Process Improvement : an intermediate change in the business processes.
(3) Process Re-design: a processes is not changed, but design in a different way.

Out of Ten(10), how many marks would you give me.

Thanks

Hi

You have made all the points but remember in exams we need to go in much detail! I'll give you 7! :)

Length of your answer is also very important. You are writing answer for 10 marks. As Acid said you need to elaborate your points. I will give you only 3 to 4 marks for this.

Hi,
You seem right and i actually have a strong gut feeling that this is now a favourite for the examinaer Skidmore, last time he brought the Paul Harmony strategic matrix--- make sur you know it.. last sitting i failde by 3 marks.... be warned...
Also watch out for the new process diagrams, they used to be a killer in former paper 3.4, he has brought them back.
Chris.
