How many hours..
do you study a week?
do you recommend or think are sufficient to pass?

Do you think certain papers need more hours than others? if so which ones and how many?

Any other comments on time spent studying?
Post any comments below.

Hi AlishaACCA,

I give 2.5 hour per day for each chapter from a book. That goes perfect and If you try to follow this rountine than you will realise its quiet easy and effective!

For example , If you are giving F7 and F8 then study daily one chapter from F4 spending 2.5 hour per chapter and same for F6 .

Theoratically you will finish the entire studytext in 1month and practically it will take you 2 months :)

Hi,

In my opinion when u have to study on ur own we have to manage a lot of your time some time we think that we have a lot of time to cover all the topics but when exam time come close the tension starts mounting on…Oh I have to read this topic …Oh no !!! Nobody given me any hint that this is an important topic…..Oh my God !!!! I am not able to remember where I had put my books last night!!!!!!............O Mom just give my breakfast on my table…..I have no time…..Don’t disturb me :D. In short a lots of Oh..

To avoid all these excuses we can plan….But we all must have heard

Man proposes & God disposes…….

Still planning in advance can make a big difference…Along with, as we have discussed on this forum a GOOD STUDY MATERIAL with tuition support which could be e-tuition also….

I would also like to add that study hour vary from person to person some students take time to understand the topic but when they got it they find it easy to remember…On the other hand some understands the subject very easily but spent most of the time to memorise the points and terminology.

I find it better to study topics which I'm already familiar with or studied before in earlier grades, but at the same time not waste too much time on them. It kind of gives me condfidence that part of my syllabus is done with.

In my opinion it is also important that the time you are spending on studies should be productive. Because concentration level and grasping power is not same for all the time that you study, sometimes its high sometimes its low. Is there any technique to maintain complete attention throughout the study hours?

Hi ,

What usually we do is that we make a study timetable so strict , that it becomes something like this :

12 PM - Wake up

1 PM - Grocery shopping

2 PM - Study F7

3 PM - Dance class.

And so on ...

Now we see here that at 2 PM when you will sit to study your F7 and open your study texts then you will have many thoughts that will pop up in your mind about the 3 PM dance class , like : Would she dance better then me ? Would they like my dance? I wish Zara is absent so that they like my dance , What would I wear today? Would the judge be biased or unbiased ?

So now there are 2 thoughts fighting with each other

Thought 1 - ACCA Study thought

vs.

Thought 2 - Dancing thought ( Attention thristy !!! )

So in this type of war you dont have a mental peace! Which is the essence of any type of studies !

So when you make a timetable then you should try to "give place" the studies rather then to "accomodate" them.

So make a timetable which for example says : 2 PM Studies and then 1 hour break or something like that. This is essential.

Besides this you may like to study my previous post about "WorldClass study technique"

Best of luck!

I feel that everybody should study as per their own capabilities and limitation. Everybody can not have same grasping power.

To make a time table is essential but to follow it properly is more important.

While preparing time table need to keep sometime for revision what we study in the fortnight. Simultaneously whatever you studied try to solve the question paper based on that which will help you to understand how much you learnt and remember from that particular topics.

Hi Vervicy,

I understand your situation. You are busy not lazy:smile:
If you are doing ACCA, try to give only one paper at one sitting. Plan your studies according to your routine or weekends. I think daily 1.5 hours is the ideal time for the persons who are handling job, family and studies altogether.

Actually it kinda depends on how far the exams are basically. I have been studying around 4-5 hours daily for the last 15 days and it will probably only increase as there is only 1 month left in exam. I usually study from day till night but there are lots of breaks in between.

Last few days i've been studying 6-7 hours a day. I have 4 papers this session and so far i am pretty much in line to finish course of all subjects in this month. If i do it then that means im on track and then i will have 1 month for revision practice.

So throughout the session ive been studying around 2 hours a day but now its starting to increase like hell as the pressure is mounting up
