Hi everyone
i had a query and i was wondering if you guys could help me out.........im doing f8 on self study basisi had earlier purchased both the book and kit of ***...........bt i wasnt really satisfied. After hearing a lot of praise for gtg i decided i would study f8 from it and therefore i recently bought it.i went through a few chapters of the book and i found it be an elaborate insight into the subjects.now im facing a problem
i have this silly habit of making notes of all the subjects..i can only learn stuff in my own writing:////
the gtg book is very lengthy probably because it covers all the different aspects related to a topic.i look at the same chap in the *** bk and its soo short and the same chap is covered in a lot more detail in gtg.Im confused as to what i should note down in my notes as if i try to reproduce the whole gtg book in my own writing it will take me ages!!!!!!!!!!
can somebody guide me ?what should i do?what things am i supposed to learn and which topics should i simply go through and get a general idea........
i would really appreciate it if u guys could help me out of this dilemma:no:

HI Rafia,

We are always here to guide you.

Firstly, I would like to say thanks for using GTG material. We have given good examples and also it covers all the topics as you said. This is the main reason why you find GTG material lengthy. It is very nice to know that you prepare your own notes and study from that. In fact, this is an excellent habit.

Coming to your problem, I suggest an easy solution. Our GTG has simplified your work. When you go through the topic, at the end of that particular topic synopsis is given for easy understanding and remembering. Ensure that your notes cover all the points covered in the synopsis since, synopses contains essence of the whole topic which is understandable and very brief.

I would also suggest you to purchase GTG keynotes which is handy, contains whole study guide and easy for reference. It has the actual key notes which it easy to remember from exam point of view.

Hello Rafia,

Although making self notes had never been of any use for me but since they work for you , I would recommend that after reading each chapter you try to list down main points you read in each section of the study text.

Make sure you dont get bogged down in Study text , past question practice is more important.

Best wishes

Hi Rafia,

Welcome to GTG!!!!

I appreciate your way of study. With GTG study text, you should prepare your own notes by referring to synopses and key notes. However, reading the whole text is also very essential.

In GTG study text, every topic and concept is properly explained with suitable examples. By reading the study text, you can understand each and every concept. This understanding will help you to reproduce the text in your own words in the examinations.

Now, you are a member of GTG forum. I must invite you to the QQ sessions. All F8 members have started a Quick Quiz session. Every Monday, one question from any chapter is posted and it is answered by all up to that week end in their own word with proper study. When the sufficient answers are received, I give comments on each answer in respect of the points covered along with the writing style.

You can have a look on all the questions from QQ1 to QQ5 and post your answers.

Hope you will enjoy the studies with GTG.

All the best.

Hello Rafia,

By this time exams are over, hope you have benefitted from the GTG guides and advises...practising on lots of past years exams questions certainly helps, isn't it? Good luck!!!
