Hi All,
I have sat paper F7 twice, first obtaining 45 then last sitting I got 39. I'm not sure where to start with the studying. I have actually gone through the entire syllabus while studying. I just getting fustrated. I look at the books everyday but just don't know where to start. I know I have an issue with the number 2 question that is the publish accounts. I really can't do one (1) in full if it is anything like last Junes paper. Could there be anything else i'm not doing. Where do I go from here. Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Dear Hotianna,
Question no.2 to my knowledge carries more than 40% of the entire syllabus as it requires the knowledge of several IAS's & IFRS's.
I've got 49 before in the same paper and planning to takle it by by paying detail attantion where neccesary.
MY ADVICE:
Don't spend too much on this chapter instead Pay a rapt attention to Questn 1,3 4,
Get somebody to put you through-don't strugle instead work smart not harder.
We'll get talk more soon.

Dear Kadijat,
I'm glad that the tips were of help to you. I'm sure you live in Nigeria-that's where i live also.
I think we should learn to work smarter always not necessarily harder.
If you are not too sure about a particular topic, the best is to look for those who knows it- the truth is somebody knows it. The method i have adoted & it works.
If you Kindly see this site at your leasure time- good stuffs are there for you on F& and other papers.www.opentuition.com.
Wishing you the very best in life!

This is an easy question :)
Q. how many ACCA exams do you know for sure what 75% of the paper is going to be???
A. Not Many
There fore you should focus almost all of your time on Q1 (consolidation) Q2 (company accounts) and Q3(Interpretation of accounts and or CFS). These 3 q's maje up75% of the paper and they will definetely be on the paper so make sure you know them inside out.
If you have any time left over try learning the FRS's and the IASB framework.
do this and youll pass F7. Its technical but not that hard.

Thing is you are always guaranteed a consolidation question. Its just the elements which are tested along with that consolidation that makes it tricky.
I think June 08 there was a cash flow statement, which hadnt come in the previosu 2 papers. Im not sure about December 2008.
I too have started to study after getting 46 in June 08, which was very frustrating when I realised that I had not seen Q4 at all and had spent way too much time on the consol.
If anyone wants a study partner til we get to the end, im up for it. Im sure there are things you may understand better than I and vice versa.
