Q - What is "strategy" ?



"Strategy is an plan which is used to identify the current business position . its resources e.g. land . man power , core competencies and determining the path to be taken towards a desired goal."

Thats how I see what strategy is. In P3 we use the strategy terminology is business context , other then that we see strategy in making many decisions in our life.

For example , I wanted to become an auditor and after I passed my A Levels , I searched for relevant professional courses which will make me an auditor keeping in mind the location where I want to study , the study material and tutor guidance available , and the fee I will be able to afford. Keeping all these in mind I decided to do do ACCA.

So first I looked at my resources to suit my objectives and then the end result was I was doing ACCA. So I started making a strategy to best identify the way I could take to be an auditor.

We also make many strategies in our every day life . I probably you have ever played Command and Conquer Tiberium War 3 then you will notice that when you see enemies base then against it you make your own base , tanks , defence weapons and radars etc to beat your enemy

So its the same strategy which we talk about in P3 BUT in a Business context .

yea i have played command and conqurer, try warcraft you will like it, so what you mean is strategy in business context is how to acheive the company objective keeping in mind the available resources, enviornment and threats?
