The F8 exam went okay for me was a bit too lengthy in my opinion but I did attempt almost 90-95% of the paper and tried my best. The paper set itself was not that difficult just the time management was the key in which I lacked a bit.
Coming to the GTG textbook of audit and assurance,it is a very good and detailed text book with nearly all the relevant points included. There were some glaring omissions in respect to opening balances & comparitives and some other things which I do not currently remember but will list them here pretty soon so it can help in the future editions of the book.Overall for a first edition of any book its impressed me a lot and specific mention to the practical examples listed in the book does help in understanding the points which in comparison to FTC and BPP is a huge plus point.I wish the best to GTG for their future publications and would be very keen to use your textbooks for my forthcoming exams in June too.Take care and hope this helps.

I think that such omissions are although important but indeed very natural. I had pointed out more then 5 to 6 errors in BPP Studttext and the revision kit in F6. So in comparision to that GTG has done alot better! Errors hopefully should be removed in the new edition and yes the Example which are provided really ease up on theories. I have studied one chapter from the F7 which was alot better then my friends Ftc.

Anyways,You should list up the errors or email them to the Admin to ensure they are noticed and so that I can be sure as now I m studying F8 :P

Enjoy ur time off !

I do believe that they do read these forums and the F8 author especially because the best thing I have liked about this place is the student input is being given consideration which is awesome and I sincerely hope they read this thread of mine.

We do read all the forum posts and take care to note student comments and try to implement your suggestions. We are very student focussed so welcome any comments / suggestions you may have. Please feel free to tell us the bad things (as well the good points) you find so that we may improve upon them in future editions. Regards Jiten

This is what I have liked about this place, the close proximity between the authors and the students can make up for a unique experience and help in facilitating both the parties at the end.
